Hmmmm. I was planning an entire post about my early favorites for this season's AI. I've had my blog post open ... waiting ... waiting ... still waiting. Where are all the rock stars?! Why aren't my bobby socks knocked off on week one?! Finally a chance to WOW us with a full performance and background music, and we got diddly squat.
For the moment, I like Brandon (best chance to take the big win) and Blake - they were the only stand outs in my book. And even though I didn't love his song, I'd still vote for Chris Sligh (but I never vote until the last few weeks). Overall, like Simon said about one of the first guys, I think all the dudes lost their sparkle.

For guys, I'm definitely rootin' for Blake and Chris Sligh (who looks like Jack Osborne, but I like him anyway). For girls, at this point, I really don't know - but Puuuuuh-lease why didn't they send Antonella home?!?! LaKisha has an amazing voice, but tbh, I have a feeling she'd end up like Fantasia, with an album that isn't really the style of music I listen to, and probably wouldn't buy... But she definitely can sing!
I agree with you. Lakisha picked a great song this week since everyone is on a high with Jennifer Hudson and Dreamgirls. I'm interested to see if she will keep up that intensity.
Wow, you're good! I still don't know all the people's names yet. I usually don't mentally latch onto names until they're down to 5 people. I don't know who my guy favorites are still....I think I like the guy with the little goatee beard; the one who's related to the country (?) singer. He seems genuine.
Right now, I just go for genuine-ness..forget talent! Like, I hope that girl who almost gave up her dream of a singing career makes it to the top 10, even though Simon said she wasn't talented enough and accused Ryan of wanting to date her (THAT made me laugh! Hoo me!).
I like it when Simon Cowell gets put in his place. Grumpy bugger.
